Salty
Talk about SALTY! That's the pavement at the Meadowvale Train Station, and there's no ice mixed in, that's all salt in that picture. I guess they need to make sure nobody slips and breaks their butt bone :D I know all the salt they throw around at winter wreaks havoc on our shoes, clothes, and cars, but I guess it's better than having a broken butt bone!
Here's some pink salt I found in downtown Toronto......
Isn't pink salt some kind of gourmet salt.... in which case, wouldn't this be better served at some fancy restaurant? Looks too good for just our feet :)
Please take care walking, it's icy out there! Happy Photohunting Folks!

Those are some "salty" sidewalks in Toronto. It's good that they keep you all safe. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
Lovely photos. I can't imagine seeing all that salt on the streets. We have just come out of a very hot summer. Happy weekend.
Wow, that is a lotta salt!
I wouldn't wanna break my butt bone either.
Teriffic take on the theme! thank you, but I have enough of that salt right here in my little spot in Michigan too! lol...Thanks for visiting my photo tonight!
Beautiful pictures - but they make me very happy that I'm living in a tropical climate :)
Wow, that's a lot of salt! I wonder if the pink salt was made so by something leaking from cars? Or was it pink to start with. When you get as much snow and ice as Toronto does, I guess you need heavy salting! Much better than a broken bone anywhere. :D
Wow nice pink salt! haha it wouldve been better if its served in a fancy resto.. hehe
What a waste ! but I love the pink salt, looks like semi precious stones.
I've never seen pink salt... but this are superb photos!!
Have a great weekend and greetz from Holland!
No photohunt for me this week, I couln't find a salty cat. ;)
The 3rd language on the salt box is dutch ! In Belgium we have 3 official languages, French, Dutch and German ! And this for a country with 10 mill inhabitants and as big as Los Angeles, lol !
Please scratch Nermal behind the ears as a purr from me !
LOL - now that is super salty! We normally don't have that much salt here. ACtually it's already raining tonight so the salt will be gone and warmer temps (10C) are in the works already...
Thanks for visiting me.
hey thanks for the visit! this is a wondeful and cool site...
Nice pics Angelo!Real salty.
Ive never seen such colorful salt, sugar yes,and they make the street safe and pretty.
Better be careful :)
Hows the weather,Angelo?
Be safe and have a nice weekend!!
The pink salt is quite festive. That's the kind of thing that would make me smile on a cold day. However, I cringed the second I saw your first photo thinking about my leather boots!
Wow, it does look like ice.
Oh, and how that salt can just reek havoc on your cars paint job! What great photos for the theme! :)
i wondered what the salt was for - but then you explained it - yes pink salt is a gourmet salt - well when used for cooking it is ;)
Wow, that's a lot of salt on the ground. At first I thought it was hail, till I read your write-up. We sure wouldn't want a broken butt bone, lol. Have a great weekend.
WOW - that is a lot of salt!!! Great shots!
Thanks for stopping by.
Yeah, I think I'd take salty shoes over a broken tailbone!
Cool pictures, thanks for sharing.
Talk about salty! I think you found the perfect picture for the theme. And pink is my favorite color, so I like the pinks alt best.
Pink salt ... how nice. They also look like semi-precious stones at first glance.
Thanks for visiting me earlier. Happy weekend!
Fantastic take on the theme this week!!!
Mine's posted this week...OLD SALTS
Hi Angelo, great photos.
I was thinking of posting some similar. Or maybe some other kind of salt or even chips. But I think I'll opt out of this week's photo hunt. Happy Weekend. And it looks better out there now.
That is a lot of salt, great pictures.
Great salty pics! You almost make that mess look pretty.
Wonderful pics since I live in a place where there is no snowfall at all! love the pink salt!
So what makes the salt pink? And I cant believe how thick and chunky all the salt is! My photo is up!
At least it's safe
I can honestly say I have never, ever seen pink salt before... we have no snow, no ice, only flakes and now 70 degree temps.
Great perspective on the photos. I hope you didn't get coated in salt taking them!
Can't believe you picked up something so obvious. It took me more than week to figure out what to present. Maybe the fact I see "salt" all places everyday makes it complicated...
Great entry and do have "sweet" weekend
Great shot! That's what I was hoping to get but I didn't end up taking any photo's of salty streets today.
I like the pink salt, I wonder what chemical does that.
Those are some serious salt!
Btw, T13 was going to be closed almost two weeks ago, and then Leanne's sister took over and they kept it open. Almost everyone was in doldrums about it. I was glad to see it wasn't close.
Great choice for The Hunt. It's rarely slick enough here to require salting like this.
Salt eh? Obviously it must work otherwise they wouldn't do it. But pink salt is going a bit far!
I can't imagine cold. It's very humid and sticky today. Oscar has spent all day under the bed where it's cooler.
Have a good week Angelo and try not to slip and break any bones!
gah i wish we get that much of salt in my area. u won't believe how CHEAP they are when it comes to salt.. and we get the brown ones... the ones that are mixed with soil. haha.
