A New York Summer Night

'Twas noontide of summer,
And mid-time of night;
And stars, in their orbits,
Shone pale, thro' the light
Of the brighter, cold moon,
'Mid planets her slaves,
Herself in the Heavens,
Her beam on the waves.I gazed awhile
On her cold smile;
Too cold- too cold for me-
Ny Summer Night 01
There pass'd, as a shroud,
A fleecy cloud
And I turned away to thee....
Ny Summer Night 04Ny Summer Night 08
Proud Evening Star,
In thy glory afar,
And dearer thy beam shall be;
For joy to my heart
Is the proud part
Thou bearest in Heaven at night,
And more I admire
Thy distant fire,
Than that colder, lowly light.
"Evening Star" by Edgar Allan Poe

Your photos and Poe's poem...what a wonderful match, Angelo. I love hot summer nights! Can't wait for them here.

A dramatic shot! I could almost see Batman zipping by. Were you at a building or a bridge when you took these shots?

Puss-in-Boots: Hi Robyn, thanks. I'd say by our standards, you're already have some great summer weather!

The Nomadic Pinoy: Thanks Nomad, the shots with the water were taken from the East River promenade, the rest from my friend's patio.
