Biting the Apple in the Big Apple

In response to Mel's call to revive the blogosphere, here are some everyday minutiae from my life....

I know it doesn't sound cool, but I've always been, and probably will always be a PC.... I never really understood the appeal of a Mac, and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to date myself when I say this, but I still remember them actually being called Apple Macintoshes.... back in the olden days of Commodore 64's?.... now that's a name I bet you've not heard in a long time... a long time.... does anybody else remember Apple disappearing for a while before coming back full force?.... now Apple's everywhere with all these awesome gadgets....

which brings me to my point.... I have been putting it off for a while now, but finally, I bit the Apple and got myself an iPhone... the iPhone4 to be exact... what the heck was I thinking putting it off for so long! this thing is awesome.... they're not lying when they say that there's an app for everything.... coz I think there literally is an app for everything.... there's all the useful medical references and applications that I never really use.... then there's an app where you can actually deposit checks into your bank account with your iPhone4, kinda scary.... there's an app where you can scan UPC codes and the thing will tell you what the product is and where you can get it and for how much, depending on your present location.... my iPhone4 even tells me where I should eat.... okay, no it doesn't tell me where to eat, it but it suggests restaurants in the vicinity of my present location (it's an app for Urbanspoon).... the camera on this this thing is pretty good too, I've retired my trusty Sony Cybershot... or at least I'm giving it a rest.... as you can see the iPhone takes pretty good shots.... then of course there's Shazam.... QR codes.... and have you heard about bumping?.... Oh and yeah, you can also use your iPhone to make fon calls.... awesome....

okay I gotta stop being an ad for the Apple iPhone4 now... the buying experience was pretty cool too though, coz I got it at the Apple Store on 5th Ave.... pretty cool building eh?.... it's all underground as you can see...

So anyways, I'm gonna go waste some more time playing with my iPhone4 now.... if you haven't gotten one yet, I heard there's a new one coming out soon.... I hear the new generation of iPhone will actually control the weather and cure cancer too, so maybe y'all should just wait for that one to come out.... Cheers from the Apple Store on 5th Ave!

What a cool looking store. I remember the first time we went to the Apple store in Sherway Gardens , tony and I were just in awe when we checked out the Iphones and all the cool features. That time , Iphone 3 was just about to be released in a few months, we thought it would be so 'sikat' to have :P True enough , when iphone 3 was released, we gotta have one. We are still very much enjoying it. I borrow it from Tony from time to time. My most favorite game - just the gold old slot machine. ( might as well play it on the pc )Enjoy your new toy!

Commodore 64? I don't think that Commodore or 'CBM' as they tried to call themselves, is that well remembered. They never recovered from the stigma of the Vic-20 (the first computer my family had, fun times with micro-memory BTW).

Gina: Thanks Gina I'm definitely enjoying my new toy, battery life sucks though, I guess coz I'm using it too much... my friends tell me that the iPhone4 is even better than the 3.... if you're up for an upgrade maybe you guys should upgrade, or maybe just wait for the newer one... hi to Tony!

Looney Canuck: Haha... Vic20, I forgot about those...

KA, thanks for the special mention. I've never thought of getting an iPhone 4 but the way you describe it in your post, you're almost convincing me to get one. Install the Tap tap rev apps in your phone. Maybe you'll get addicted to it. lol. And that place is really cool. Underground mall? I couldn't wait to set foot there. :)

Btw how was your Thanksgiving? Did you have turkey for dinner? And have you been to outlets or malls with super big discounts? Christmas is almost near and I still haven't started shopping for my wishlist. God bless you! :)

Mel: crap Mel that game is addictive! It's keeping me occupied at least, I'm working tonight and I can't sleep.... Only thing is dat my battery is running out...

Belated happy American thanksgiving... I was supposed to go to my cousins but I got tired watching the parade, had lots of stuff to do an had to work 24hours today pa so I skipped the turkey yesterday nd went to bed early... Ok Lang, Canadian thanksgiving was in October and my family came down to NYC for turkey then so I don't feel like i missed out... Important thing was that I had the day off!

Oh and no black Friday shopping for me... I saw people in line even before thanksgiving lunch! Can't stand shopping crowds... I'll go out to an outlet in jersey or Pennsylvania na lang on a regular day... I'll take you when your in town if you like hehe

princesamusang: you should get one.... And ya cool store eh?

Grabe, work for 24hrs? You need to rest with every chance you have. I'm trying to fix my work issues now. So most probably I'll still be staying with my current company. Wish me luck, KA.

So you had an advance Thanksgiving celebration back in October. And it's always the best time when you celebrate it with your loved ones. Accdg to Mushu's kwentos, the shopping crowds were really OA. lol. They weren't able to stand it either.

Are you done with your Xmas shopping? I haven't started my wishlist yet. Probably next weekend, I could start buying gifts for my inaanaks. Btw, Mushu wont be coming home for Xmas (again). It's hard to be on your own pala. Like now, I wanted to watch HP7 but no one's available to watch it with me. Hah! Ang laki ng problem ko. :P

Advance Merry Xmas, KA! :)

Awesome shots thru iPhone4?? I knew its better than the 3GS!!Im done playing with it,and actually I dont have enough time to toy it,nor even with my lappie...

Unfortunately,we cant upgrade our 3GS to iphone4..anyone can change it,regardless the span of time of the first contract,BUT,that is if youre willing to pay for another large amount of bill...crazy huh...
I need patience right now...

Youve been working so hard pala...and yet,you still have the time to be online!Unbelievable...hehe...

Hontouni gomennasai!!!!
Im so busy talaga and Im almost dead at night....its getting colder everyday din,so i make it a habit to sleep after a bit of bondings with my family(playing WII games,or even the old ones...)

Cheers to revival!Just keep it up!

Five yeas ago who would have thought of a device like the iphone4?
You have to wonder what we will be using in another five years!
Happy Holidays!
