Snowy, Snowy Night

Whose woods these are I think I know,
His house is in the village though.
He will not see me stopping here,
To watch his woods fill up with snow........

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

from "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening"
by Robert Frost

"As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me. Six more weeks of winter it will be!"
- Punxsutawney Phil, at sunrise on Feb.2, 2008

Say it aint so Phil, I was looking forward to dusting off the picnic table sooner rather than later....
Did someone say BBQ?.... no, I didn't think so.....

The weather sure gets carried away there, Angelo. We're having lots of rain and floods, which although a disaster in some places, has been a huge relief from the drought. However, the large dam that provides the majority of water for Brisbane is nowhere near full and we need heaps more rain. However, the weather is very hot and humid, but I still prefer that to snow!

Beautiful pix. I'll have to post some too. We have a snow day here. I hope it doesn't keep anyone from getting out to the caucuses.

Angelo, Wow, wow, wow.

These pictures are spectacular. I haven't seen any snow this year, but then again, maybe it is still coming. We have mostly sunny days in winter.

Snowy, snowy night, paint your palette black and white...lalalalall( humming here to the tune of Vincent ~0~

Beautiful pics Angelo. Kind of eerie.
Would be nice to see the daylight summer shot in comparison when there's green and blue and other vibrant colors all around.

For me who haven't seen snows in my lifetime, these photos are spectacular. Looking at those photos, I couldn't tell what time of the day they were taken...

Off-topic:
As for your question in my latest post - the Chinese greeting was in Mandarin...

I should probably explain these photos for everyone.... I took them at 3 AM right after a heavy snowfall. The night is usually bright after a snowfall because the snow reflects the street lights back into the sky. At least that's what I think is going on... it makes the sky glow... my camera's automatic white balance exaggerated the colour coming from the street lights. I'll try to adjust it next time and see what the effects are.
