Another Deep Thought from the New York City Subway

okay, this didn't really happen on the New York City subway, but on a New York City bus.... the title is just for continuity purposes....

I found myself on the M96 heading towards the green 4, 5 and 6 subway line along Lexington Ave.... just that morning, I learned that despite running on the same track, the 4 and 5 line is an express to Harlem and that the 6 is the one to take if you want to get off at various stops in between downtown and uptown.... geez, why is life so complicated?... will I ever understand the NYC subway system?... anyways, Soulmate looks up and says, "That's for you".....

New York Feb 2008 003i

"O wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world
That has such people in't!"
- William Shakespeare (1554-1616)
from The Tempest

WORD to dat W.S.... wow she was right, it really is for me.... it made me think of a trinity of goodly creatures who have helped me along my recent journey.... Soulmate, Sr. Theresa, and DC....

Soulmate, if you're reading this, I haven't had a chance to really say thank you for that letter you wrote me on January 3, 2008.... it's what Dr. Conrad Fisher would have described as a "letter from God"... I've kept it close ever since.... I needed to hear that at that moment.... I knew there was a reason why we became soulmates way back when... unfortunately my short term memory takes over a lot, but fortunately since that letter, you have been splashing my face with much needed cold water with the goodly things that you do and the goodly person that you are....

Sr. Theresa, you taught me once again that sometimes a coincidence is no mere coincidence, but a divine happenstance.... Providence if you will.... your happening upon my blog and the perfectly beautiful storm of events that followed gave me a good smack back to the reality that gives me peace....

DC, you gave me a good punch in my gut.... an appropriate analogy since you are a mixed martial arts expert.... after still refusing to believe that a goodly Hand was still at work in my life, the series of events which began with you was an exclamation point to a couple of smacks and splashes of cold water to the face.... thank you brother....

For quite some time now, I have been standing on the edge of a cliff staring into the dark abyss of atheism.... I never jumped in, but man was I ever close... today, I am still standing on that cliff, but now, because of goodly people, it is no longer the tips of my toes which teeter on the edge, but the backs of my heels.... with my feet firmly planted, I face now the Mountain Top, and it is beautiful... I'm sure I'll probably glance behind me once in a while to look into the dark abyss, but it won't have the same pull on me ever again....

Remember folks that your actions have consequences.... even if you don't realize it, what you do may actually be transforming you into an instrument of the Almighty.... your words may be making you into a messenger of good news.... angels really do walk among us....

pay it forward....

I strongly agree with this one... Our actions really do have consequences... Most of the time we just give reasons to our actions right after we did it. It would be better if we can think of a reason before doing it, right? i sounded so MAGULO! (nosebleed) lol

Pay it forward! Yeah

Christian Bryan: Yahoo you're first hehe... haha you gave me a nosebleed too... just kidding! I gotcha :) Good to see you again!

For quite some time now, I have been standing on the edge of a cliff staring into the dark abyss of atheism.

I don't think the cycle ever stops, Angelo. I mean we constantly fight evil elements in various forms. Life is a constant battlefield daw di ba? But God is good. He sends people our way for us to see the light... In your case, Soulmate, Sr. Theresa, and DC.

Thank goodness for little things, ano? Like those words from William Shakespeare. And the letter you mentioned. Nakakatuwa because we always expect our prayers to come in big packages but we would realize later on that the great ones come in simple, little packages actually.

Have a nice day, Angelo! And thanks for the visit and remembering Everything ;)

Sasha: Hey Sasha, good to see you again! Yes, faith is a life-long journey isn't it. Just like life, time, and history, it also goes through cycles. I had just never before questioned whether my entire life had been based on lies and fairy tales and whether I had just been seeing what I wanted to see all my life. I have never blasphemed in my mind or on my lips before either. But I got a miracle that I desperately needed, and it came in small packages just like you said. But it was a miracle nonetheless. Like your blog used to say... keep the faith... when I lost that, I lost hope and everything went to hell. I don't think that I will ever go back to that place. It would be suicide. Great to see you again, Take care!

I wonder who`s your soulmate,Pom.Is it TA? ;)

With my feet firmly planted,I face now the Mountain Top,and it`s beautiful...

wow...very touching.

Pay it forward, indeed and I remember the movie. :D

Let`s live life to the fullest,Angelo.Just go and follow the right track.Reminiscing the dark sides once in a while won`t be painful if we are not bitter, right?

it`s good to feel your presence everyday!!

Ghee: haha Ghee, I wish TA was my soulmate.... I thought she was for about a week, it would've made our lives so much easier if she was :)

As long as I remain connected to the "Mountain Top", I'll never be bitter about the "dark sides" because I know there were lessons to be learned, and I can rest assured in what the future holds in store.

Bon jour,Pom!

oh,I was wrong pala?for only a week?:)

yeah,we need those lessons to be stronger and make firm decisions regarding our future.

I feel like I am walking along with you in your journey through your blog. And I am keeping my fingers crossed and anticipating a scream from you saying...."I did it!!" haha!

Ghee: Ya about a week, I should've listened to my gut instinct and saved myself a lot of stress, but I didn't coz she was so damn HOT! hehe

Glad to have you along for the ride Ghee! I'm just hoping it won't end in a train wreck.... but that's my cynical short-term memory taking over again.

Acey: I know exactly what you mean Acey. All I can say is each to his or her own time. Just hang on and learn from the ride, but don't ever lose hope. Keep your eyes, ears, heart, and mind open, God likes to whisper. If you haven't already, you'll recognize His angels around you.

Really?haha,she`s really irresistible I bet. :)

Oh,I hope it won`t end that way... :)

Ya I tried embedding the comments, and see how it goes, I think I like it better. I don't know why I didn't like it before... which do you like better? I know your comments are embedded right? Maybe it just had to grow on me, I'm a creature of habit kasi, when I get used to something, I like to stick with it.

It is 15C today! what schizophrenic weather... I hope your allergies are not too bad this year. Don't forget your claritin.

Nermal says thank you and meow :)

Dear Angelo, I think a crisis of faith can be almost an epiphany for one. It makes you take stock of yourself, your life and your faith and then...move on to the light, or sadly, sometimes not. However, that's obviously not you.

Congratulations, you've made a good choice.

Give that rascal Nermal a big hug from me and purrs from my two rascals. xx

Puss-in-Boots: Thank you Robyn, I'm glad to know you understand it exactly, and I'm glad you think I made the right choice too :) Nermal says thank you and is sending some head butts and purrrss over to Australia. Hope you're doing much better.

the windchill today didnt stop me to go out and shop with my friend. :)

I miss Nermal na,are you gonna post some of his pics later?

Ghee: Konichiwa Ghee! Too wide eh... I guess coz my blog is wide :)

Ya crazy weather it's raining hard today and they say we should get one more snow storm before March ends.

Zyrtec eh? That's cetirizine and as far as I know it has more sedation associated with it than Claritin (loratidine)... as long as it works for you :)

I'll probably post about Nermal on the 22nd... his birthday :)

Have a great last day of the weekend, and a great week ahead Ghee!

All the while I thought I've made a comment on this post. Wala pa pala. May short term memory loss na rin yata ako. lol.

KA, this post reminded me of my high school retreat. A priest from Don Bosco lectured about being "responsible for the consequences of our actions". :)

I am moved by your post.. God is indeed very good. He sends His instruments to guide us and enlighten us with the decisions we make. Good luck, KA! I hope that as you move forward, the Mountain Top will be more beautiful than ever.

Hmm, who is your "soulmate"? You've mentioned (her) a couple of times already. :)

Anonymous said...

Ghee: haha, no I don't think it'll be another snowmaggedon Ghee, at least I hope not!

Good luck with the zyrtec, I hope it works for you this hayfeve season.

Nermal will be 7 this year!

Mel: Mel! You're right, I thought you did already too :) Thanks, I hope so too, and I hope the same for you.

Soulmate is Soulmate ;) She lives in New York City now but me met in the Philippines.

Can't wait to see your new post!

Zyrtec works fine but not on windy days.Well, better than no medication at all.It helps,so I`ll just lean on it.

Bonne nuit,Angelo and Nermal....

Hi Ghee, we missed you too! Thankfully, no snow yet, but it is getting colder again. Nermal's looking forward to it too :)

Well, I hope that the Zyrtec keeps on working for you. You never can tell how meds will work exactly with an individual, so if it works stick with it.

Thanks Ghee, I think I will stick with this comment box. Oyasuminasai!

A beautiful quotation that somehow brings back a lot of my faith to humanity. I think God still refuses to destroy this world because He still sees more good people than the bad ones.

its getting warmer at day time and I am starting to get annoyed...spring time?i luv it and I hate it! :D and I crave for sweets when I am stressed out...damn,hayfeve....

I can imagine it is difficult to get the systems down in NYC. That quote is awesome though. I think along the same lines regularly as I look around at life here on earth. It is very great we are here.

Ghee: I don't mind at all Ghee, I love it :)
No pollen here yet, although its getting warm and sunny, the birds are back. It's weird to hear them chirping outside my window again. Good luck with your allergies, I hope the zyrtec does well for you.
