A Tag, Another Tag, and Screw Lea Salonga

From Mel: You need to list 5 addictions and pass this tag/award to your friends.

1) Coffee.... a chronic addiction.
2) Lost.... just got hooked last year.
3) Kaplan and Sadock's Synopsis of Psychiatry.... a new and current addiction... I used to hate this book!.... now it's riveting hehe ya right....
4) Star Wars.... since I was 5.
5) Blogging... again.... after a pretty long hiatus.

Okay friends, any takers?

From Bry: I just realized that this tag has to be handwritten. Great, good luck reading my chicken scratch....

(a) Write who tagged me,
(b) Answer the following questions:
(b1) my name/user name/pseudo
(b2) right-handed or left-handed?
(b3) my favorite letters to write
(b4) my least favorite letters to write
(b5) and I should write "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
(c) Tag five other people.I used to have a huge crush on Lea Salonga, then I met her in person after a Miss Saigon show in New York.... she seemed full of herself. Then I went to the Philippines and my gf at the time kept showing me all the reasons why I shouldn't like Lea Salonga, like how she was maarte (sorry, can somebody help me translate that into English - too something?, it's one of those words that I can't quite find the English equivalent to, kinda like 'umay'.... but I digress...) and how she was a terrible actor. My ex was right, my ex was also the jealous type.... anyways, move over Lea Salonga, I got Susan Bolye now!

damn that was hot.... I have been watching this over and over again and watching her on the news for the past 4 days.... when I first heard that song, I was in grade 9 on a field trip to see Les Miz with my French class.... in my 20's I heard Lea Salonga sing it.... but those were the years "when dreams are made and used and wasted".... a decade later and that song makes more sense to me now that I've met those tigers with voices soft as thunder.... subtract her awesome voice and she's still the perfect person to deliver that song.... thanks for inspiring me Susan, I'll still refuse to believe that "there are dreams that cannot be, and there are storms we cannot weather"....

I'll kiss you Susan Boyle and Nermal sends a high five to Pebbles....

Hey Angelo...maarte- High maintainance is probably one of the translation.

I wanted to see Miss Saigon in New York, but I haven't made it to NY yet. :)

Angelo said...

Shoshana: Ya that's a good one, I guess I'm thinking more OA.... that's probably the better word Over Acting.

Dennis Villegas said...

Maarte-I don't think there is an exact English counterpart for that word--maybe crazy? heheheh Jowk!

Seriously, Maarte to me might mean--a person who is hard to please and doesn't like simple things.

I agree with your girlfriend ;)

Angelo said...

Dennis Villegas: Hey Dennis! Ya, that's a good definition man, and ya I agree with her too hehe :)

Hi Angelo, I just want to say it is so nice to be back here in your blog.
How was your weekend? :)

Susan Boyle rocks :D ! Undeniably, Leah sings well but sabi nga nila maarte nga daw! Personally, probably it's her nature na rin na misunderstand lang. I'm not a fan I assure you hahaha! I'm just trying to analyse hehehe. Some people find her sosyal, others intelligent and talented, some find her maarte.

Maarte I consider it one that is excessively mushy on everything lol !!! Girly thing *rolling eyes*

Hi! I'm Grace: Nice to see you too Grace.

Haze: D'accord Haze! Ya Leah Salonga has an awesome voice, and she seems to be very intelligent. But the way she acts was just a turn off for me, but that's just MHO.

Lucas: Hey Luke, no prob man. I heard people were having that same problem you were having, but I thought it had been resolved already... oh well...

Word to coffee, keep it at a dose, I can take up to 6 before I start palpitating.... sadly, I can't function unless I'm palpitating.... haha you don't like the bitin feeling after each LOST episode eh?

Ya Leah is very talented, but I love Susan Boyle's aura.... she has an unassuming confidence that I admire.

hey Angelo, sorry for my absence. I was very busy, we moved and got back to our old house, I am looking for a place on my own and working in shifting hours. whew!!!

Thanks for doing my tag! If I'm not mistaken you're a doctor, and you've got an amazing penmanship for a doctor! thanks....

And oh, everybody was astounded by susan boyle! She's amazing! I can see that she's next to Connie talbot! :)

I also watched Lea Salonga perform on Broadway's Les Mis production and I thought she was already very good there until I heard Susan Boyle last week. Hers was The Voice!
I really don't know Lea though so I can't say if she's maarte.

whoa! i found a star wars fan in blog. a friend of mine also finds lea adorable. he also met leah in the US.

lucas said...

i hope so. thanks. we need to secure some labs next month.

really? hahaha! so you need to experience palpitation first? cool!hehe!

what i like about lost is that it's a mind game. mentally stimulating. the first 2 seasons were a little frustrating but when the answers were slowly unveiling, i got hooked..hehe!

yeah. i agree. she seems like a very modest person.

peace out!

Susan Boyle is amazing! I was laughing at Simon's reaction while she was singing. lol. As for Lea, haven't met her in person but her brother and husband works here in our company. He's gwapo! lol. I've done a program request from his husband. ;)

You write like a doctor! I can imagine you giving prescriptions for your patients. :)

Christian Bryan: Hey Bry! Good to see ya again. Good luck with the apartment hunting. My writing was on it's best behaviour, I assure you that what you see is not representative of my actual handwriting :)

The Nomadic Pinoy: Hey Nomadic Pinoy, thanks for dropping by.

the donG: Word to the star wars.

Lucas: word to Lost man! the first 4 seasons was definitely a mind effing. But season 5 is starting to explain things, and I sense a wrapping up since they're only going to 6 seasons I think?

oh, the san lucas entrance exam. That's alright man. If I recall, it's kinda like the NMAT with those weird word associations, analogies, math questions etc? Dude, if you didn't already get in elsewhere, just try again. If I had let every failed exam screw me up, you'd find me in a corner rocking back and forth and mumbling incoherently.

Mel: Mel!!! Where ya been? Good to "see" you again. Can't wait to see your next post of all those adventures you've been on! Haha, trust me my actual writing is much worse than that!

Lionheart : Richard the Adventurer: Thanks, ya man tru dat!

lucas said...

woah! really?! i didn't know they're only up for six seasons! waaa! i'm not watching the latest season. i'd rather run a marathon with it... hehe!

yeah. that NMAT exam. i guess i was just not really wired for that type exam. i know i could've passed it. i guess the nerves got the best of me. you're right. i want to try again, probably after 6 months...

thanks for the encouraging words, doc. :D

sorry guys lea is not maarte, sosyal, mayabang. lea is one of showbiz personality to be admire follow her www. bigsismultiply.com to know her better as a person and in thursday edition of pdi newspaper entertainment section backstory ok.

Lucas: hey Luke, no prob man. Just don't give up, I'm sure you'll kill that exam the next time 'round. And yeah Lost is ending soon.... sux, but it'll be cool to find out all the answers to our questions finally!

Anonymous: Thanks for the comment and point of view Anonymous Lea Salonga fan! I don't usually post Anonymous comments on my blog 'coz if you have something to say then don't be afraid to show your 'face', or just don't say anything at all.... everybody is entitled to their own opinion after all, and we should respect that ok.

Everybody forms their own opinion about celebrities based on what they see in the media. It's impossible to really know a celebrity "as a person" unless you are part of that celebrity's circle. The rest of us have to base our opinions on what we see in the media, or on brief encounters with said celebrity. I'm sure the piece of media you have plugged into my blog will show us a rosy picture but that still does not discount what I and the rest of the commentors have seen for ourselves in other media or face to face.

There's no denying Lea Salonga's musical talent. I think I'd probably see her again on Broadway if I get the chance, but that's not the point of this blog. The point is that Susan Boyle deserves our admiration, not just because of her musical talent but because she has proved to the entire world the old adage of not judging a book by its cover, and to believe in one's abilities and in one's dreams even if the whole audience is against you. She has a humble, unassuming, yet confident aura about her, with a back story that fits that particular song well. I tend to root for the underdog hence my admiration... and from what I've seen of her in the media thus far, I don't think Susan Boyle is maarte.
