Oh No He Di'int!

OH YES HE DID... 338 electoral votes? Whaaaaat.... yaaah boooyyyy!

My faith in America was restored at 11:00 PM EST on November 4, 2008....

Wow, the words my mind sang to itself..."we shall overcome".... my faith in a persevering hope in better tomorrows was also restored tonight.... I never thought that I would see this day, this soon.... I used to be an optimist, so I imagined maybe seeing this day in the distant future, with grandkids on my lap telling them that a black president would never have been elected in my day..... in a few hours I'm going to wake up to a world with a little more hope in it, and with a renewed sense of optimism..... God bless America....

But now, what am I going to watch on t.v.?

the donG: Hey the donG! The expectations on president elect Obama are huge. I feel sorry for him actually. For me his mere election was change enough. It signaled to me a change in American society, that for a small majority of the electorate, men can be "judged by the content of their character" rather than "the colour of their skin". It's a step closer to the realization of MLK's dream, and to the perfect union the founding fathers spoke of. I hope his election will be more than just a symbol of a post-racial America.

I hope he'll make a good president, and that he'll be able to "make the change".

Mel: Hey Mel, I hope so too. I'm pretty sure he'll be great. He's already demonstrated that he's an intelligent guy who's calm, cool, and collected even during a financial crisis. We need someone who's steady, and who attempts to unite all sectors of society. And to top it off, he's young, and a cool guy!

yes, we are all looking forward on what Obama will do for a better change to America, but our duties are to pray for him. Obama needs us.

Hi, I'm Grace: Hi Grace, thanks for the comment. I think that as responsible citizens, our duties go far beyond just praying for our leaders. Prayers are great, but God helps those who help themselves. If you want the government to change things, then do what you can to bring about that change. I think that what Barack Obama has shown us is that "yes we can", if we work at it, and participate rather than just watch from the side-lines.

Hi Angelo, isn't it exciting? We in Australia and when I was in NZ last week, all think it's wonderful news.

God Bless America and all who live there.
