Winter Scenes and Prognostications

Whew! I had a pretty busy week. I haven't had a chance to update let alone spend more than a minute in the blogosphere. I really miss visiting everybody's blogs, but I'm on a bit of a roll with my studying that I didn't want to get distracted. Anyways, today while waiting for the next train home, I decided to go for a walk by the waterfront.... bad idea.... The balmy days of December are over, and Old Man Winter has decided to come home to Toronto with a vengance. I'm not complaining though, it IS January afterall, and this IS Canada, so a year would not be complete without good old Winter. And everything just looks so much better right after a good snowfall. So in honour of Groundhog Day, I'd like to share some wintery scenes with you. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take pictures right after the most recent snow storm when everything looked magical. But I'll make sure to do so next snowstorm. Watch your step, it's very icy....Frozen seagulls..... Brrrrrr...... Inukshuk..... "so the people will know we were here"I checked this year's prognostications from the two groundhogs I trust the most..... Willy from Wiarton, Ontario.... and Phil from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (pic from CTV.ca).... they both did not see their shadows, so they both predict that Spring is on its way! Even more reason to enjoy the wintery scenery while it lasts! Happy Groundhog Day!

Ghee: Ghee!!! sorry for the long hiatus... ya, don't worry, the seagulls are still alive, I don't know how they survive though, it felt like -20C out there with the wind! I think spring is in the air everywhere else except Canada. My Dad just got in from NY and he said it's not that cold over there.... Oh well, have a great weekend too Ghee, I'm gonna try to blog some more this week. Take care!

Angelo, studying on a roll is good. I remember when I was getting ready to take the MCAT way back in forever, I had to gave up even my bodice-ripper. Gasp! I cannot live without my books, but for school, I did every time the need called for it.

So, you just go ahead and have a good studying week until you get what you're working for.

Even in the bleakness of winter, these pictures you've posted managed to be poetic. I did have to turn up my thermostat a degree more...it's getting cold here in Dallas too. We had pretty close to 0C today.

What's good about spring...

Just like the chill is coming to a close...

Just like hope is coming to a start...

Well... I hope you could enter my blog! :-)

God bless... :)

Nice pictures, it seems that Canada looks more elegant in winter; with all the snows and ice.

Hey, thanks for dropping by! My written test for citizenship went very well =), thank you for asking! I am just awaiting letter for oath taking date now.
The pics are so lovely. I don't mind the snow in winter,( it is actually pretty )it is when it gets freezing cold that gets me down. My body isn't going to get used to the cold. Boy, am I glad that the groundhogs saw their shadows today! Can hardly wait for spring!

Soshana: Wow 0C? We should be so lucky, it feels like -20 or more with the wind chill factor up here! Oh, you took the MCAT too? I remember that exam way back when too... the exam I'm preparing for now is somewhat the same, basic sciences, but more of basic medical sciences... I hate the stuff! Well, I doing good keeping on track with my books, but I'm still gonna squeeze some blogging here and there :)

Toe: Hey Toe! Supposedly, on Groundhog Day, groundhogs all over N.America come out of their hibernation. If they come out of their burrows and see their shadows, they will become frightened and go back in to sleep some more. That means we'll have a longer winter. If they don't see their shadow, Spring is on the way! Happy Groundhog day :)

tama enjoy the snow while it last, lapit na spring. pero spring is something to look forward din, maganda mga bulaklak sa tagsibol

OOOPss...came back...I guess I didn't quite get that thing- about the groundhog seeing or not seeing his shadow =P...Ayan, mali pala ako- I should have said: I'm glad that the groundhogs didn't see their shadows! Then spring is coming!
